maintaining an attractive, sanitary and safe facility for students, staff and public; Assist in providing equipment and furniture arrangements for meetings, classroom activities and events; minimizing property damage, loss and liability exposure; ensuring that tasks and projects are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner; and supporting the overall preventative and regular maintenance programs school-wide.

this is a skilled level Lead Custodian classification.
They have lead responsibilities at the site.
In addition, they perform the full scope of custodial and general maintenance duties.
Incumbents in this class perform assignments under general supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures.
They exercise responsibility for the general cleanliness of assigned buildings and facilities, report any basic building and maintenance repair needs to the supervisor, as well as responding to the immediate priorities of staff and students as directed by the supervisor.
This job reports to the Office Manage and/or Head of School.

Primary Daily Tasks Cleans assigned school facilities (e.
g.
classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, grounds, libraries, etc.
) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.
Inspects school facilities for the purpose of maintaining an attractive and clean condition campus.
Maintains supplies and equipment (e.
g.
cleaning solutions, paper products, restroom supplies, vacuums, mops, etc.
) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of items required to properly maintain facilities.
Reports immediate safety and/or operational concerns Secures facilities and grounds, specifically at the close of the day, for the purpose of minimizing property damage, loss and/or liability and ensuring safety at work sites.
Works to close the facility at the end of the day, checking that all doors and exits are locked and secure.
NOTE:
this position is a 9am-5pm shift, but with some exceptions Job Requirements:
SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
adhering to safety practices; handling various materials; and operating equipment used in industrial cleaning.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; and solve practical problems.
Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
methods of industrial cleaning; and safety practices and procedures.
Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods.
Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment.
Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans.
Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
adapting to changing work priorities; displaying mechanical aptitude; meeting deadlines and schedules; and setting priorities; lift, carry, push, pull or guide up to 50 pounds individually or more than 50 pounds with assistance.
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:
significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity.
Generally the job requires 5% sitting, 80% walking, and 15% standing.
The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
